Well...it looks like I've done it! I signed up for the 2007 TBR challenge on Yahoo. Here's the link if you are interested: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tbr_challenge/. I added a link for my New blog and I added a file for my 2007 list. 6 of these I'm buddy reading with Kelly, and the others have been sitting on my shelves for awhile. So....here's my list:
  1. January - Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood
  2. February - The Crimson Petal and the White by Michael Faber
  3. March - Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner
  4. April - American Gods by Neil Gaiman
  5. May - I am Charlotte Simmons by Tom Wolfe
  6. June - Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
  7. July - Out by Natsuo Kirino
  8. August - Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
  9. September - Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
  10. October - The Dante Club by Michael Pearl
  11. November - Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami
  12. December - Possession by A. S. Byatt

Pretty eclectic group of books, if I do say so myself. Time to get motivated and get some reading done!!

Christmas

Why is it that no one ever gets me what I want for Christmas?? Yes, I got some really nice things, but did anyone buy me books??? My son is the ONLY person that got me a book for Christmas!! And he did good too, especially for a 10 year old. He bought me Lisey's Story by Stephen King. He KNOWS that King is my favorite author. Good kid, that one! Everyone else got me "stuff". I can't tell you how many hints I laid out there.....just get me a B&N gift card or a Border's gift card. But NO ONE did! My mom got me PJ's and some Bath & Body stuff. My husband bought me a necklace (and it is VERY pretty, but I'm not much of a jewelry person to be honest) and some clothes for work. His one redeeming gift was a certificate to get my hair cut and colored. It's now much shorter, dark (almost black) with a hint of red!! Oh well...I have a birthday coming up. Let's see if anyone gets the hint!

I did finish Between Friends by Debbie Macomber. I will post a review later. Nice book. Not my normal thing, but kept me reading! Right now, I'm reading Women on the Edge of a Nervous Breakdown by Isabel Sharpe for review for Harper Collins and West of Eden by Harry Harrison.

My Very First Post!!

OK....so I finally committed myself to a blog! Yes, I know it's about time. But time is the question....will I have enough of it to actually make this work?? I guess we will see! It is now 4 days before Christmas and I actually have all my shopping done!! I know. Unbelievable. I love the magic of Christmas, but as a parent of small kids, it is SO MUCH WORK! Thank goodness, I have a week off to recoup! I have a feeling the New Year at Cat is going to bring a whole lot of stress down on my head, so I need some time to prepare.
