Have you read the Erec Rex books? I haven't (yet), but I've heard great things about them. In fact, I bought The Dragon's Eye for Chad (or me!) for Christmas!!
Taken from the back of The Dragon's Eye: Life is not easy for twelve-year-old Erec Rex. His single mother can barely support her six adopted kids. They’ve moved into an apartment so tiny that Erec sleeps with the washing machine. To make matters worse, there is a strange force in Erec that he cannot control.
Then one morning Erec’s mother is missing. Compelled to find her, he embarks on an adventure that will change him forever. On his journey he meets Bethany, who also lost both parents in a mysterious past. Together they discover Alypiam, where the knowledge of magic is kept.
Things do not go as planned. Forced into a royal competition filled with danger and sorcery, rescuing his mother seems impossible. He discovers that Alypiam is in peril and he is the only one who can save it. But he must learn the secrets of trust and loyalty to overcome all odds ... and to start on a quest to become king.
Now I ask you....doesn't that sound good?? Yes, folks. I do have a point to this post. Author Kaza Kingsley contacted me a few weeks ago. She is having a Blog Tour to promote her books, and has asked if I would host a day!!! Well of course I said I would be honored. It's not every day something like this just falls into your lap.
So.....here are the details. On January 13th (my birthday!), Ms. Kingsley will be guest hosting. I have some questions for her, and I'm hoping you will too!! I've never really done this before, so work with me. If you'd like to check out her website, you should!! Erec Rex is fantastic fun. And so is Kaza's blog, The Memory Mogul. For all of you who love YA books and fantasy, this is a series you shouldn't miss. Stop by on the 13th and leave a comment for Ms. Kingsley. Should be fun!!
And here are Kaza' other stops on her tour:
1/8 Books4Ever,
1/9 Baseballs and Bows,
1/10 Fanatic Space Blog,
1/11 Bibliophile's Retreat,
1/13 Stephanie's Confessions of a Book-A-Holic,
1/14 A Year of Books,
1/16 Deliciously Clean Reads,
1/17 Into the Wardrobe,
1/18 Real Gurlz Magazine,
1/19 Chauceriangirl,
Now...I'm off to steal Chad's Christmas present and get started reading!!

This will be fun! Thanks for hosting me - extra cool that it will be on your birthday!
Kaza Kingsley
Kaza - Thanks for asking me!! It's a nice birthday present, that's for sure!! You are right. It will be fun!
That sounds like such a fun thing! And the blurb on the book is very interesting. I will definitely be back on the thirteenth to visit and ask a question or two.
Erin
That does sound great! I'll definitely stop by on the 13th!
Erin - Cool!! I can't wait to get started. They sound sort of Harry Potterish in a way. And don't we all love Harry Potter??
Nymeth - Great!! I can't wait!
Oh Gawd Steph!.. *can you hear me groaning?*.. I'm groaning! I'm groaning because this sounds good!
(*the groan*) I'm having thoughts of giving up reading! I don't know how much more I can afford!! ARGH!
I certainly will stop by ..you might consider a mass email to those of us with bad memories! But I do come to your site along with others nearly everyday..
Deslily - I have to say, you were the first person I thought of when I read the back of this book!! But man, I'd hate for you to give up reading!! Great idea about the email. I will definitely have to send one!!
I'm doing a bunch of rereads this year along with new, hoping that allows the purchasing of new books lol.. the problem there is the longer I wait between buying some books, the longer my wish list gets! LOL... and I need to get TPB or hardbacks (that adds up!) because of my bad eye...
I won't give up reading lol.. I'd go nuts if I did!
What's nice about this book is that at least 2 are out already!
Cool sounds like fun. Have a great birthday in advance :)
Wow, that is quite an honor, Stephanie. Sounds pretty awesome.
PS (and totally off topic)- thank you for introducing me to "Jericho". You told me to watch it so I got it from Netflix. I lurve it, so much. And now I've got to admit, I have a bit of a crush on Skeet Ulrich. :P I can't wait for season two...thank goodness the fans saved it!
Awesome! This is so cool Steph! And it couldn't come on a better day for you...that's a cool gift for a book blogger ;)
That's great, Stephanie! It sounds fun. Happy Birthday in advance! ;)
That is so great, well done! I am looking forward to it:)
Deslily - Yes, and Book 2 was listed on the Border's Original Voices list!! You are SO impatient when it comes to series!! I did see your post on the new Cornelia Funke book!!
Rhinoa - Thanks!! My kids are planning something for my birthday, but I don't know what it is. I know they each gave Grandpa $5 (and Ana, the youngest did some extra "chores" to earn it), so they could order me something. Who knows?? They know me better than anyone.
Kookie - Thanks! It does feel like an honor!! Jericho ROCKS!! As well as it's fans. From the first episode, I knew it was going to be something really special. But it was in a horrible time slot. It did great when it first started, but I think they moved it the last half of the seaon against American Idol. Well duh. But I've never seen anything like the fan response when it was cancelled. It was fantastic...and the network caved (for once). I'm really hoping it gets better ratings this time around.
Chris - Thanks!! It was really cool when she sent the email asking me. She said she was asking bloggers from blogs she enjoyed reading! Now THAT just made me feel great!! I'm hoping to read Book 1 this week.
Melody - Thanks. And Thanks for the birthday wishes. The older you get, the less you look forward to birthdays!! But I still think it's a day to celebrate!
a.book.in.the.life - Thanks! It's good to see you back again!!
