Just Wild About Harry

Okay, love him or loathe him, you’d have to live under a rock not to know that J.K. Rowling’s final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, comes out on Saturday… Are you going to read it?

Yes, I'm wild about Harry!! And yes, I'm going to read the book!

If so, right away? Or just, you know, eventually, when you get around to it? Are you attending any of the midnight parties?

My son, Chad, and I went to the last midnight party and had a ton of fun. So we will definitely be going this year too! I have my books already on reserve at Barnes & Noble, just waiting for us to pick them up! I will probably read it right away, only because I'm afraid of all the spoilers that will be hitting the blog waves!

If you’re not going to read it, why not?

N/A

And, for the record… what do you think? Will Harry survive the series? What are you most looking forward to?

OK.....Here is my take on the whole Potter mystery. I love Harry Potter. The WORLD loves Harry Potter. And yes, we will be incredibly sad if Harry dies. But J.K. Rowling said there would be 7 books. Then it would be ended. I think that unless she kills Harry, the pressure on her will be awful to keep the series going. So, unfortunately, I do think that Harry Potter will meet his demise in the Deathly Hallows. That being said, if he DOES die, he will only die if Voldemort dies. Good MUST win over Evil. There can't be another ending than that. Again...this is just MY opinion. But we shall soon see!!

What am I most looking forward too? Closure. I just need to know what happens. I do like series reading, but I tend to need closure too. If that scary creature gets away at the end of a book or movie, it tends to make me jumpy!! I also need to find out what will happen with Snape! Borders has the "Friend vs. Foe" thing going....and I would fall into the friend category. Again...we will see in just a couple of days!

Happy Thursday!!!

I'm also in the Snape as friend camp. He HAS to be good. And yes, good will triumph, just like in The Stand. I forget who all died in that book? Did Tom live?

I agree with you that the good side will win for sure. There is no way she'll finish in any other way. Unfortunately, I also agree that Harry will die. It's so sad, though :( I hope we're wrong.

As for Snape, I vote friend!

I know good could win even if Harry dies, if he dies killing Voldemort, but somehow I don't think he will. Not sure why though may just be denial.

I'm bit worry about Snape. I dislike him but if he going to reedem himself then my possilbe take is that he will be the one killed. I hate the thought of Harry dying. Or even Ron and Hermione. But I agree that I need closure at the end...

Have a Happy Harry Potter fun weekend! And thanks for stopping by my blog :)

Okay, I don't read the books, but I've seen the movies and I don't think Harry is going to die. Why? Because if Rowling kills him, she is going to have about 14 zillion really angry fans who are not going to pick up the next thing she writes.

I think Harry lives.

I went to a midnight release for Book 6 and am definitely going to the one for Book 7. It's so much fun! Hope you and your son have a great time.

I'm holding out hope that the trio survive--Harry needs some happiness in his life. And Snape is definitely good...otherwise I'm gonna be all kinds of ticked off! :)

I hope to finish it by Monday.

I'm not a big HP fan. Maybe if the kid was older and loved him, I'd stand in line for her, b/c I'd love her to love books that much!

We ALWAYS go to the midnight parties! Can't miss the last one now can we? ^__^

I'm looking forward to the books too, but at the last minute I decided to skip the midnight purchase deal and wait a couple of weeks before getting a copy. All the press has been a bit overwhelming.

I think Snape is a friend as well.

Hi Stephanie, you've written a wonderful post.

Hope you all have a fun weekend, and happy reading!

Snape is definitely friend. And I think there's something there between Lily Potter, James Potter and Snape.

Can't believe there's so little of Snape in the Order of the Phoenix movie.

Can't wait for the launch. :)

I think Snape is a friend also. He's my favorite movie character from the HP series. :-) I don't really have a book favorite . . .

I'm right there with you reading the book! Happy reading, Stephanie!

in my email this morning was one from Amazon saying my books are readied for shipment.. ummm that would be Harry Potter!

But I will be away and have to wait to come back to read it! ARGH!

Other than Voldemort whoever dies will not make me happy.. but not much we can do about it.

Snape is a good-guy.. no doubt about it!
