Winter Classics Challenge

OK...this is the FINAL challege that I will be able to take place in until Spring. That's it! I can't do any more!! The Winter Classics Challenge is hosted by Booklogged is only for the months of January and February 2007. The challenge is to read 5 Classics in the 2 month time frame. Hmmm...I part of the "Classics" club. I think this is doable! (or am I COMPLETELY off my rocker?? Who knows???) Only time will tell!!

Here is my list of Classics for this challenge:

  • A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
  • The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton
  • My Cousin Rachel by Daphne Du Maurier
  • The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte
  • Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

Yeah! I'm pretty excited about this list! A couple of Classic Club group reads, an all-out classic and a couple of more obscure reads by some Classic Authors.

Later!!

Hey Stephanie, I've been wanting to read Catch-22 forever! I've heard such amazing things about it. Also, I had the Anne Bronte book in my hand the other night at the used book sale, but for some ridiculous reason I set it free. Hmmm, I hope it's there when I go back next time!

Good luck with the additional challenge -- you are my hero!

Girl, you are making me tired. Just kidding. I'd have to pick some really short books. Throw in a couple of Willa Cather. Good Luck!

I read Tenant a couple of years ago. I sort of remember it. Like all the other Brontes, it's dark. Pretty sure I liked it. Good luck with the other challenge!

You've been bitten by the challenge bug just like I have, I see. It's hard not to be swept up in the fun of it all. I'm planning to read Joseph Heller's Catch-22 also. Good luck with the challenges!

I love me some classics, and the sad thing is that I haven't read ANY of the ones on your list! What's even sadder, I was supposed to read The House of Mirth for a class but ended up blowing it off and winging it on discussion night. Woops!

You've picked some great books! I remember reading "My Cousin Rachel" years and years ago. I look forward to your reviews!
