Dracula the Undead and a Library Sale

This morning was the first day of the big library sale in Bloomington. The girls and I headed over this morning after breakfast and kind of went nuts!! They are going to be as bad as I am!! All in all, it was a pretty good day for the Toland girls! The little ones ended up with 27 books of their own, including some classics, like The Incredible Journey, Are you There God? It's Me, Margaret, and Freddie the Hamster. Me? Well, I ended up with 21, which I'll list in a minute.

When we pulled up to the house, there was a package in the door. And I was so excited!! I just got the new ARC from Penguin. It is Dracula The Un-Dead by Dacre Stoker and Ian Holt!! This is the sequel to the ORIGINAL Dracula by an actual member of the Stoker family (or so the story goes!) I can not WAIT to dig into this one!

And here is a list of our booksale finds:

  • Bloodstone by Nate Kenyon
  • Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto
  • The Pact by Jodi Picoult
  • Witch Child by Celia Rees
  • Shopaholic and Baby by Sophie Kinsella
  • Crystal Rain by Tobias Buckell
  • Charmed Thirds by Megan McCafferty
  • Fourth Comings by Megan McCafferty
  • Skinny Dip by Carl Hiaasen
  • The Well of Lost Plots by Jasper Fforde
  • Elantris by Brandon Sanderson
  • Dead Over Heels by Charlaine Harris
  • The Cadaver's Ball by Charles Atkins
  • I, Strahd: The Memoirs of a Vampire by P.N. Elrod
  • A Killing Frost by John Marsden
  • Minion by L.A. Banks
  • Ever World Books 1 & 2 by K.A. Applegate
  • The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud (Books 1, 2, and 3)
  • Fly By Night by Frances Hardinge

How's that for a Friday Haul??

What's new on YOUR bookshelf this week??

I'm so excited too! I didn't even remember requesting Dracula because it had been a few weeks! I got it and did this really geeky dance on my front porch! I'm glad I don't have neighbors! Anyway, that is some book haul you got there! Awesome!

Book Lady - Yeah...I was dancing on the front porch too. Of course, I DO have neighbors. They think I'm pretty weird. Oh well. C'est La Vie!

Whoa, Stephanie, that is one incredible haul!!! Glad to hear all three of you girlies found much to bring home! (Library sales are pretty damn dangerous around here, too...we've got five book fiends in this family.)

Great stacks! Have you read the other books in the Tomorrow, When the World Began series by John Marsden? If not, you'll have to find them, I'm afraid. You need to start at the beginning and they are super addictive. So, so good.

Have I mentioned how jealous I am? I tried requesting the Dracula book, but I don't think I'm going to get it. Your haul is fabulous! I discovered last weekend that the Cinci library sale was last Sunday and Monday. Unfortunately, my parents were in town and we had to be 60 miles north of Cincinnati for most of the day. So, maybe I'll get to it next year... Enjoy your books, and I can't wait to read your reviews!

Debi - Yeah...the girlie's did pretty good!! While I can't really afford books stores, this sale rocked. Between the girls 27 and my 21 we spent under $30.

Bookfool - No, I haven't read them. Dang. I saw the book and thought it looked like something Chad would like too. Guess I'll have to go out and see if I can find the rest!

Michelle - You never know!! I didn't think I would get it either, but then it just showed up today!! Thanks! I love library sales!

Awesome haul, Stephanie! I'm especially jealous of The Bartimaeus Trilogy. And that Dracula sequel sounds very, very promising!

I still haven't ever actually read the original Dracula... and I have three copies of it lol. Oh the Aurora Teagarden series by Charlaine Harris is pretty good and I loved Skinny Dip! Need to read the Stroud books still too...

Enjoy!
